Advantages of a Home-based Business

The biggest advantage of a home-based business is that you can spend more time with your family. Also, you do not need to rent an office, so due to this fact you will have lower costs. Because you will have lower costs, it might be possible for you to offer low prices. By offering low prices you might be able to undercut the competition. Offering low prices is probably the best way to be competitive. Another advantage of having a home-based business is that you can work in a place that you enjoy being in. Most people like being in their homes, so they are going to appreciate the fact that they can spend there more time.

I am Going to Eat all the Forbidden Foods when I am No Longer Pregnant

With the big day just around the corner (my baby due day is very soon), I find it hard to think about anything else but my newborn and about how my labor is going to be. Is it normal? I believe so. Even when I lie at night before falling asleep, all I can think of is my new baby.

If you have been pregnant before, you probably know that there are some types of foods you are not supposed to eat while you are pregnant. For example, for the duration of my pregnancy, I have to steer clear of liver, which can be found in any pate I can find in my local supermarket.

Planning My Water Birth

I am not sure how many of you, my dear readers, have delivered a baby in a pool, but I want to share with you my enthusiasm for water birth. I know for a fact that the birth center where I am planning to have a baby has several pools. I also know for a fact that I am going to get into one without problems if I request it. It already gives me the peace of mind knowing that I am going to enjoy my birth a lot more. I’ve read some amazing stories written by women who experienced giving birth in a pool full of warm, relaxing and soothing water, and I can tell you that I am very hyped and pumped. I am so glad that I have such a great birth center within just a mile from where I live. Even getting there should be a piece of cake, not to mention that I already participate in a tour that allowed me to make myself familiar with it.

I have to admit that I never really thought about the possibility to have a water birth until my midwife told me about all those pools they have in the center. Hooked by the idea, I immediately started reading about water birth on the Internet (like I always do every time I need to research something that I find interesting), and I was hyped for it from the start. Maybe my birth will not be as painful after all.

Dreaming about Labor

Since I am already over 38 weeks pregnant, I find myself dreaming about my labor. Even when I wake up in the middle of the night for some reason, I tend to think about the baby and my labor.

Yesterday, I had probably the most relaxing labor-related dream ever. Generally, my last night was one of the best nights I have had in a long time. I felt so relaxed and peaceful, even with my due date approaching so fast. I dreamed that I slept through my whole labor only to wake up with my baby by my side. When asked about my labor, I responded that I don’t remember it at all. I am still thinking that my experience in the hospital in the next few weeks is going to be very encouraging allowing me to enjoy it very much.

Why I Like Car Trips

The title of this post says ‘Why I Like Car Trips’. I chose this title because I recently I realized that I really enjoy my car trips with my family to places such as woods or mountains. One of the reasons I like my car better than anything else is that I do not have to stick to any schedule. All I have to do is take my car and embark on any trip I want. As long as I am in my car, I decide how long my trip is going to be and when it is going to end. Of course, I often have to consult my family about the duration and place of the trip, but they usually agree with everything I decide that we do.

Getting Ready for Labor

I cannot believe that I am already 36 weeks pregnant. The time is passing by so fast, and I remember my 20-week scan as if it took place just yesterday. And here I am, with a big bump waiting for the big day to finally happen. Am I ready for it? I think so, although, if you have been pregnant before, you know how it feels like to expect your first baby. Since you never know what is going to happen and how it is to take care of a baby (unless you used to take care of a young baby yourself), you might even feel a little anxious about. I know that I am going to do just fine. I have a wonderful Husband by my side who is going to make a great father. He is really excited about the baby, I see it in his eyes, but I also can easily deduct it from his behavior. He even is usually the first one to be willing to shop for baby accessories. He sometimes shops for them on eBay by observing various auctions and then bidding on them.

Since I never needed to take care of any baby myself (I am the youngest in my family), I will need to learn the ropes myself. I am confident that I will do just fine. Who said that you need any previous experience to have a baby? After all, everybody learns such skills from his personal experience and I am no exception to this rule.

Accidents and You

I saw something very interesting some time ago while walking down one of the streets in my neighborhood. There is one busy road close to where I live. Cars drive there very fast and in my opinion it is easy to have an accident while driving a vehicle there. I do not recommend ever driving on that particular road because you never know what might happen to you. If something happens, the only right thing to do is to contact somebody for help.

I do not know how many times you see somebody talking on his mobile phone or texting while driving a car, but it happens to me from time to time. Every time I see somebody talking on a mobile phone while driving, it makes me wonder how safe it is to drive these days even though I am not the one who talks on mobile phones. But let me go back to telling my story. It seems that one of the drivers on the road was distracted by having a conversation on his cell phone. Little did he know probably that he was about to drive through traffic lights. He did not realize on time that the lights turned to red and he was forced to stop abruptly. The person driving right behind him was forced to stop suddenly as well. I heard tires screeching as the other car needed to stop. Fortunately, no accident took place on that particular road, but it was very close to one. The whole situation reminded me how important it is to know what to do in case something bad happens to you and you are not the one to blame for the whole situation. An experienced personal injury attorney can help a lot if you know where to find him. Of course, thanks to the Internet this should not be that difficult anymore.

How Are Your Windows?

When the weather is cold outside, it is not such a bad idea to do something in order to stay warm inside. One idea here is to make sure that your windows are properly insulated. I remember having bad windows in my apartment in the past. I did not take any steps in order to insulate them as it was an apartment that did not belong to me. I felt that insulating the windows in the apartment was too big project for me. Right now, I would not hesitate to insulate any windows. I heard from a few sources that your energy bills can get a lot lower once you make sure that no cold air has any chance to get into your house from the outside.

What to do when you retire

Summer is this time of year when I like to visualize how my future is going to look like. Aside from making summer vacation plans, I also like to imagine how my future as a retired person is going to be like. Some people might say that it might be too early to think about your retirement when you have just started your career and your family, but I strongly believe that the earlier I begin thinking where I will want to spend the retirement time, the better it is going to be for me and my family.

I heard various people say that retirement communities are often good and suitable places to retire for seniors. Most seniors I know of appreciate it when it is quiet where they live. They do not want to hear some young person listen to loud music even during the day because they might want to take a nap in the afternoon. Being surrounded by other seniors is good for retired people as their lives are similar. Usually older people wake up at similar hours and go to sleep at similar hours. During the day, the are likely to participate in much the same activities other seniors around them like to take part in.

When I retire, I definitely want to retire in a quiet place far from the hustle and bustle of large cities. Big cities might be great for younger people looking for career opportunities, but as a retired person I am not going to need to work anymore. There is nothing that keeps me in big cities where there is so much noise, which is not such a good thing when you are older and need a lot of rest. Even though I am not old yet, I already like it quiet around me so that I can rest anytime I want.

Go Camping

I discovered already a long time ago that some of the best ways to bring our family members together is to go camping. It does not even matter where we choose to go camping. Any place is good as long as it is suitable for camping. I try to camp in the wilderness from time to time to teach my kids how important it is to spend time close to nature. Every time we head for the hills, I try to teach them all the important lessons I can think of. I do not want them to become insensitive adults who care only about themselves. Camping is also a great opportunity to go fishing or trekking if this is what your family likes to do.
