This post brought to you by Sian’s Plan. All opinions are 100% mine.
I cannot believe that another Christmas season is already over. All everybody was talking about was the fat, greasy and filling turkey they were going to eat for Christmas. I, on the other hand, had made it my Christmas and New Year resolution some time ago to have a healthy Christmas and a healthier New Year. I am also planning to avoid eating sweets this year seeing how much weight I gained last Christmas after allowing myself to eat as much sweet stuff as I wanted.
Eating healthy has always been one of my top priorities. I have to admit that I haven’t always been eating healthy, but I have always wanted to do so. The same applies to my family. None of us have any issues with high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure or diabetes, but eating healthy is like a good investment in our future. The better we eat when we are young, the healthier we are going to be when we are older.
I have a small confession to make: even though I like to cook, sometimes preparing meals for my family seems like a chore, but I know that it doesn’t have to be this way. There is one idea I had a chance to try out recently, and I am here to report the results. The idea I am talking about is an online meal and grocery shopping planner: Sian’s Plan.
My adventures with the planner started about three days ago. It was another evening during which I was trying to figure out what my family was going to eat for the whole week. I was also preparing for my weekly online shopping for groceries when suddenly I got this revelation to use a meal and grocery planner I had heard about some time ago. I decided to jump on the bandwagon of healthy eating and I have been absolutely hooked ever since.
Let me explain quickly how the planner works. First of all, you need to create your account (you can first try a free trial if this is what you desire, after which I recommend that you use the code JANPLAN to get 25% off on your meal planning for the first three months. This offer expires on the last day of the month of January 2014, so make sure that you take advantage of it as soon as possible).
Once you already have your account created and you are logged in, planning your meals couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is to follow the navigation bars to do what you want. One feature that I fancied a lot was the possibility to drag my favorite meals into my menu after which I was able to generate a shopping list based on my choices. To be honest, I cannot possibly imagine ever again shopping for groceries and planning my meals without the planner.
As you can see from the pictures included in this post, I prepared three fancy yet easy meals for my family thanks to the planner: Quick Sphagetti Bolognese, Spicy Potato/Sweet Potato Wedges and Breaded Fillet Fish Fingers. All meals were absolutely delicious and my family won’t stop bugging me to prepare them again some time soon.
I would like to encourage you to check the Sian’s Plan for yourself and try out a few recipes to see how they work for you. If you had an option to choose a healthy recipe over an unhealthy one, would you be willing to do it?
